Mercedes Mone will face Stardom’s Hazuki in an Owen Hart Cup women’s tournament semifinal on next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from Sugar Land, Texas, with the winner advancing to the finals at Forbidden Door on June 28 in San Jose.
Mone returned to AEW on last week’s Dynamite as the wild card replacement for the injured Willow Nightingale, defeating Alex Windsor in the quarterfinal. Hazuki advanced this past Saturday on Collision by defeating CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone — Mone then attacked Persephone after the match, and Hazuki came to Persephone’s aid and left Mone laying.
The two previously met in December 2024 when Mone defended the IWGP Women’s Championship against Hazuki at NJPW Strong Style Evolved, with Mone winning that encounter. A win next week would put Mone in position to win back-to-back Owen Hart Cup tournaments.
The match is the only one announced for next Wednesday.
