Report: Internal WWE Reaction To “We Want Vince” Chants In Saudi Arabia

While the 2026 Royal Rumble featured major victories for Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan, the atmosphere following the event was decidedly hostile toward management. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque faced a barrage of negative chants from fans in Riyadh during the post-show press conference. The 56-year-old executive was met with loud chants of “We want Vince” and “You f*cked up,” continuing a troubling trend of fan unrest during these media events.

No Internal Reaction To “We Want Vince” Chants

Triple H chose not to acknowledge the chants during the broadcast, maintaining his composure as he addressed the media. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, there has been “no internal reaction” within WWE to the specific calls for Vince McMahon’s return. McMahon resigned in disgrace in January 2024 following a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant alleging sex trafficking and abuse, making the chants particularly jarring for those aware of the legal circumstances.

Sapp noted that this hostility has become somewhat common since the post-show format was made permanent at SummerSlam 2025. Fans previously directed similar vitriol at Levesque following John Cena’s retirement match in December, chanting “AEW” and booing heavily. The internal perspective seems to be one of resignation; Sapp described the feeling as, “Well, Triple H didn’t want to be in a room full of media, and this was what he got instead.”

Despite the mixed reaction to the show itself, WWE is pressing forward with its relationship with the Kingdom, with three events expected to be held in Saudi Arabia in 2026.
