Could The IInspiration be “All Elite” soon? According to a new report, the duo formerly known as The IIconics in WWE are generating significant buzz within AEW following their departure from TNA Wrestling. Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee finished up with TNA last month during the promotion’s AMC debut show on January 15, where they dropped the Knockouts Tag Team titles to The Elegance Brand.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that discussions about the team joining AEW have been circulating. “We’ve heard a lot of talk of The IInspiration (Jessica McKay & Cassie Lee) coming in, really ever since they left TNA for another opportunity right after losing their tag titles,” Meltzer wrote.
McKay and Lee have had a rollercoaster few years since being released by WWE in April 2021. After debuting in TNA later that year, they took a hiatus from wrestling in April 2022 before returning in June to reclaim the Knockouts Tag Team Championships. As former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champions, their addition would instantly bolster AEW’s women’s division.
