The Hardy Boyz Predict Winner Of Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk At WrestleMania 42

The main event of WrestleMania 42 is officially set to be a clash of icons as CM Punk takes on Roman Reigns. Following the blockbuster announcement on Monday Night Raw after the 2026 Royal Rumble, the wrestling world has been consumed with predictions for what many consider the ultimate modern dream match. Among those weighing in are legendary tag team champions The Hardy Boyz, who recently offered their expert analysis on the upcoming bout during an appearance on the “1Wrestling” podcast.

Jeff Hardy was decisive in his assessment of the situation, showing little doubt about who would leave Las Vegas with their hand raised. The “Charismatic Enigma” backed the “Tribal Chief” to reclaim his spot at the top of the mountain. “Definitely Roman Reigns is gonna be the champion after that match,” Jeff stated. His prediction suggests a belief that Reigns’ dominance is far from over and that the company will ultimately side with their long-time franchise player over the “Second City Saint” on the grandest stage.

Matt Hardy, however, took a more analytical and business-focused approach to his prediction. The elder Hardy brother believes the outcome hinges entirely on Roman Reigns’ schedule outside of the ring rather than in-ring ability. “I have no idea what Roman’s schedule is right now, if he’s working a lot,” Matt explained. He elaborated that if Reigns is committed to a regular schedule, the smart money is on him. “If he’s gonna stick around and be able to make WWE bookings throughout the summer and whatnot, I’m gonna say Roman.”

Conversely, Matt noted that Hollywood commitments could tip the scales in favor of Punk. “If I learn he is gonna be shooting movies all throughout the summer, I’m gonna be going with Punk,” he added. This perspective highlights a common reality in modern booking, where championship reigns are often dictated by a superstar’s availability for premium live events and television appearances in the post-WrestleMania season. With Reigns transitioning more into Hollywood in recent years, his availability remains the biggest “X-factor” in predicting match outcomes.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marks the second consecutive year the event has been held in the venue, following the massive financial success of WrestleMania 41. With ticket sales reportedly sluggish compared to the previous year, WWE is banking on the immense star power of Reigns and Punk to drive late interest. The addition of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to the weekend festivities at WWE World is also expected to boost the profile of the event as the company looks to sell out the massive football stadium for two straight nights.
