“Hangman” Adam Page is heading to Los Angeles with a singular goal: reclaiming the AEW World Championship. Page secured his spot in the main event of Revolution by defeating Andrade El Idolo at Grand Slam Australia. The victory came after Page connected with a devastating Buckshot Lariat to pin his opponent, ending Andrade’s impressive run in the contender’s tournament.
Page’s road back to the title picture has been arduous. He lost the championship to Samoa Joe at Full Gear due to interference from a heel-turning Hook. While MJF subsequently won the title in a fatal four-way match a month later, Page has been clawing his way back into contention ever since. Andrade had defeated heavyweights like Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega to reach this final eliminator, but he couldn’t overcome the anxious millennial cowboy in Sydney.
Page will now challenge MJF on March 15 at AEW Revolution. MJF, who successfully defended his title against Brody King later that same night in Australia, will have to contend with a focused and vengeful Hangman looking to settle the score.
