Karrion Kross Fuels WWE Return Rumors After Text From Paul Heyman

Speculation around a possible WWE return for Killer Kross, formerly known as Karrion Kross, has rapidly increased. The rumors were fueled after the former WWE NXT Champion received a timely text message from Paul Heyman during a recent media appearance. The interaction caught the attention of wrestling fans online.

While speaking to Monopoly Events at the For the Love of Wrestling convention, the interviewer Jamal Niaz asked Kross about his recent MLW World Heavyweight Title win. During the question, the former WWE talent suddenly looked down at his phone and audibly went, “Oh.”

The interviewer then leaned over and joined Kross in looking at his phone screen. Niaz excitedly announced to the camera that it was Paul Heyman who had just sent Karrion Kross a text message. Kross did not reveal what the specific text message was about.

He simply said, “moving on,” before politely asking the interviewer to repeat the previous question. Karrion Kross has been gone from WWE since his and Scarlett’s contracts officially expired in August 2025. Kross has established himself as one of the top names on the independent circuit since his exit.

He recently won the MLW World Heavyweight Championship at the Battle Riot VIII event on January 29. Speculation around Kross returning to WWE has been heavily fueled due to Paul Heyman’s current on-screen situation. Heyman’s faction, known as The Vision, is severely depleted following legitimate injuries to Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

These setbacks came months after Seth Rollins was kicked out of the stable due to his own injury issues in October 2025. Kross revealed in August 2025, in the days after his WWE departure, that he has maintained a strong relationship with Paul Heyman for “a very long time.”

He stated that he considers the former ECW owner “a great source for advice and information” as well as “a friend.” Paul Heyman previously praised Kross on the Ariel Helwani Show following his WWE exit, something Kross admitted he was highly flattered by at the time.

If Kross does return to align with Heyman, he would immediately inject new life into the struggling faction. Heyman is currently focused on guiding Roman Reigns toward the main event of WrestleMania 42. Reigns won the 2026 Royal Rumble match and will challenge the winner of the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match at Elimination Chamber.
