Darby Allin has revealed that he has been trying to get into a Jackass movie for years — and while it has not happened yet, he has not given up on the idea. Speaking with TMZ Sports, Allin explained that he actually reached out to Steve-O about being included in Jackass Forever before the film went into production, only for the opportunity to not come together.
“I talked to Steve-O probably forever ago, back when they were filming the fourth movie, right before the pandemic. I said, ‘Yo, put me in that movie,'” Allin recalled. His enthusiasm for the franchise is deeply rooted in his own personal history with the kind of content that shaped him as a performer and a person. “I wasn’t really inspired by wrestling growing up. I was inspired by skateboarding, Jackass, and all those crazy shows. So just to bring that into the world of wrestling was so fun.”
Allin also took a philosophical approach to the possibility not working out, which is very much in keeping with his broader outlook on life and career. “Of course, you would like to do anything. But if it doesn’t work out, that’s amazing too. Because everybody’s on their own road and everything like that.” He then delivered the line that best captures his entire identity as a performer. “I feel like I’m living Jackass on a weekly basis on AEW.”
The connection Allin draws between Jackass and his AEW work is not just a fun soundbite — it is genuinely descriptive of how he approaches his craft. From coffin drops off ladders and buildings to his willingness to absorb punishment that would end most careers, Allin has consistently operated at a level of physical recklessness that owes more to stunt culture than traditional professional wrestling. The Jackass comparison is one he clearly wears as a badge of honor. Allin is set to face Andrade El Idolo at AEW Dynasty on April 12 in Vancouver, with a future AEW World Championship shot against MJF on the line for the winner.
