Triple H Is Aware of the Fan Criticism and Has Definitely Been Booed at WWE Events

Dave Meltzer has offered insight into how Triple H is personally processing the wave of fan criticism that has been directed at WWE in recent months — and the picture he paints is of a company executive who is far more aware of and affected by the negative sentiment than the official corporate posture would suggest.

“I think he cares more than they let on. They try to act like they don’t listen but then they make all these changes. My impression is that the company directive is to say that you don’t care, that we don’t listen to these people that are negative. But does he listen? Is he aware? Yes, he’s aware and he’s certainly aware that they’ve booed him at certain points over the last couple of months,” Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Triple H Has Faced “You F***ed Up” and “AEW” Chants at Multiple Live Events in Recent Months

The specific incidents Meltzer references paint a striking picture of the current temperature among sections of the WWE fanbase. Triple H received “You fed up” and “AEW” chants during the post-Saturday Night’s Main Event show following John Cena’s retirement match loss on December 13, 2025. At the post-Royal Rumble 2026 show in Saudi Arabia, he faced both “We want Vince” and “You fed up” chants. He did not appear in front of fans at the Elimination Chamber post-show, though his more recent appearances on Raw while separating Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar have passed without personal heat.

Meltzer framed the corporate position on fan criticism as a deliberate messaging strategy rather than a reflection of genuine indifference. “You go by the numbers. You can’t listen to people because you could be doing the greatest stuff in the world and people are saying it’s terrible, but if the numbers are saying it’s good then it’s good.” The fan dissatisfaction has been driven by multiple factors — concerns about the current televised product, negative comparisons to 2019 era WWE, and ongoing criticism of the company’s ticket pricing practices heading into WrestleMania 42.
