Becky Lynch Wins the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42

Becky Lynch is the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. The Man defeated AJ Lee at WrestleMania 42 Night One in Las Vegas in a match that saw Lynch dig into her villainous side to seal the victory, exposing a turnbuckle and driving Lee’s face into the steel to get the pinfall and end the champion’s reign.

The match opened with AJ getting the early advantage before Lynch fired back with her trademark offense. Lee went up top and connected with a dropkick, but Lynch reversed a Black widow attempt and drove Lee into the turnbuckle before hitting a Manhandle Slam for a near fall. Lee answered back with a Manhandle Slam of her own for another two count before locking in the Black Widow submission. Lynch used Lee’s own hair to break the hold — drawing a reprimand from the referee — before shoving the official aside, exposing the turnbuckle and driving Lee’s face into the steel for the pinfall victory.
