The New Day have their first major post-WWE public appearance booked, with Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed (formerly Xavier Woods) set to appear at GalaxyCon in Oklahoma City later this month. GalaxyCon announced the booking, with both signing autographs and taking photos with fans on Saturday and Sunday only. The convention itself runs May 22 through May 24 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center, marking the first time the duo has appeared publicly together since their WWE departure became official.
The New Day were among the talent announced as leaving WWE during the post-WrestleMania roster purge. Kingston confirmed in his exit comments that the pair were asked to take a pay cut and opted to leave instead. “Do not ever compromise or accept less than your due when it comes to your worth,” he said at the time. Their booking at GalaxyCon represents the first step into the independent wrestling and convention circuit, an avenue that lets them maintain visibility while exploring their next professional moves on their own terms.
Kingston’s full given name is Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah, which is why he’s able to use the singular moniker professionally. Austin Watson wrestled as Austin Creed and Consequences Creed before WWE rebranded him as Xavier Woods. Watson also used the Austin Creed name in his UpUpDownDown YouTube enterprises, though the future of that channel remains unclear given that he reportedly sold it to WWE in 2021. At GalaxyCon, the pair will share the floor with veteran wrestler Gangrel, who is booked for all three days of the convention. Tickets are available through the event’s website, with autographs and photo ops sold separately from general admission, giving fans multiple ways to interact with both performers across the weekend.
