Blake Monroe is expected to make her WWE SmackDown debut as soon as this week, with Fightful Select reporting she is on the travel schedule for Friday’s episode.
Monroe, the former NXT Women’s North American Champion, was announced as “coming soon” to SmackDown on the April 24 episode, with vignettes promoting her arrival airing in the weeks since. She had previously been called up contingent on creative timing.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray spoke about Monroe on Busted Open Radio ahead of her expected arrival.
“What’s even better about Blake Monroe, and I know this sounds so crazy, but she’s one of the boys. Everybody’s gonna love her. She is an old school, throwback wrestler. She’s funny and crass. She said something in AEW in the training room one time, I turned, I was like, ‘What did you say?’ She’s just got it. When you like people, you work harder for them and she works hard. You watch her matches and she’ll do anything and everything to succeed.”
Monroe also told Marca this week that she wants to face Tatum Paxley at the John Cena Classic, citing unfinished business after Paxley put her in a coffin.
