The IInspiration have officially arrived in AEW. Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay made their long-awaited debut for the company on Sunday at a House Rules event in Brisbane, Australia. Following their match, the duo announced to the live crowd that they had signed with the promotion, a move that Fightful Select reports is a multi-year deal.
According to the report, the signing had been considered a “foregone conclusion” for the last month. The duo previously wrestled for TNA Wrestling, where they were multiple-time Knockouts Tag Team Champions. Their final appearance for the promotion occurred on the debut episode of Impact on AMC, where they dropped the titles to The Elegance Brand. Despite reported interest from other companies, their departure from TNA was described as amicable.
Lee and McKay have had a rollercoaster journey since their WWE release in 2021. After an initial run in TNA, they took an indefinite leave of absence a year later before resurfacing at Against All Odds last year. Their signing continues AEW’s aggressive roster expansion, which also saw the official addition of Lena Kross at Grand Slam Australia just one day prior.
