WWE fans will have new ways to watch the biggest premium live event of the year. WrestleMania 42 will officially air on ESPN’s cable networks. The company confirmed the broadcast details during the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
It was announced that the first hour of WrestleMania 42 night one will air on ESPN 2 on April 18. The following day, the first hour of the second night of WrestleMania 42 will air on the flagship ESPN channel. This strategy provides a massive cable platform for the opening matches of the event.
The shows in their entirety will air on the ESPN Unlimited streaming service in the United States. International viewers will be able to watch the broadcast on Netflix. The media rights landscape for professional wrestling continues to evolve rapidly.
WWE’s current working deal with ESPN started last September. Wrestlepalooza became the very first premium live event to air exclusively on ESPN Unlimited. A condensed version of this year’s Royal Rumble event also aired on ESPN last weekend.
ESPN Unlimited became available for Xfinity users earlier this week to expand its reach. Later this fall, the streaming service will also become available for YouTube TV subscribers. The platform is steadily growing its subscriber base ahead of the spring stadium show.
Here is the lineup so far for WrestleMania 42, which will be held in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium: CM Punk defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. Drew McIntyre defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against the men’s Elimination Chamber winner.
In the women’s division, Stephanie Vaquer defends the Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan. Jade Cargill will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against the women’s Elimination Chamber winner. Additionally, Brock Lesnar has issued an open challenge for the event.
The roster is currently making their final preparations before heading to Nevada. The upcoming Elimination Chamber event on February 28, 2026, in Chicago will finalize the remaining championship contenders. The road to WrestleMania 42 promises to deliver major storyline developments over the next few weeks.
