Charlotte Flair Says Teaming With Alexa Bliss Has Made a Difference in WWE’s Tag Division

Charlotte Flair has reflected on her unexpected tag team partnership with Alexa Bliss and the impact it has had on WWE‘s women’s tag team division heading into their WrestleMania 42 title opportunity. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Flair described the partnership as something nobody had on their radar — including herself — but one that has produced genuine results for the division as a whole.

“When I won the titles with Lexi in August at SummerSlam, it really did feel like I was holding up a World title,” Flair said. “No one had that on their bingo card. And I don’t know what I would have been doing had the opportunity not come up. So I do take the match for the tag titles very seriously, because I do feel like what Lexi and I have been able to create together has made a difference.”

Flair also pointed to the quality of competition the tag division has produced as evidence of how stacked it has become. “When Lexi and I were going to Raw and facing Bayley and Lyra or IYO and Rhea — there’s been some incredible women revolving around the tag titles. I don’t know if there’s been that much competition — that stacked a tag team division — before now. And that says a lot.”

Charlotte Flair Names Jade Cargill, Stephanie Vaquer, and New Liv Morgan as Dream Opponents After WrestleMania 42

Flair also opened up about life before the Bliss partnership, revealing she had no certainty about her place on the card heading into SummerSlam 2025. She wasn’t sure she would even be featured on the show before ending up winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships with Bliss at MetLife Stadium — the same venue where she main evented WrestleMania 35 alongside Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. She credited the knee injury she suffered in December 2023 with helping her develop a deeper gratitude for every opportunity.

When asked about future dream opponents, Flair named Jade Cargill, Stephanie Vaquer, and the current version of Liv Morgan — a heel she has never faced — as matches she wants to have. She also identified unfinished business with Rhea Ripley as a priority, noting their WrestleMania record stands at 1-1 and she wants to finish the trilogy. Flair and Bliss are set to challenge The Irresistible Forces at WrestleMania 42 in a Fatal Four-Way also involving The Bella Twins and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
