Jade Cargill has expressed genuine interest in a championship pursuit that would directly follow in the footsteps of one of her personal inspirations — and she already knows exactly who she would want in her corner if that path materializes. Speaking at 8 News Now in Las Vegas ahead of WrestleMania 42, Cargill was asked about Chyna’s historic WWE Intercontinental Championship reign and whether she would be interested in pursuing the title herself.
“Of course. If they let me and — listen, I would love Paul Heyman to be my manager if I’m going that route. But if they let me, I would love that and I would take over for sure. Of course,” Cargill said. When the interviewer suggested that Cargill with Heyman would be next-level, she leaned into the idea enthusiastically. “Let it happen, guys. Let it happen.”
The timing of the comment is notable — Cargill is heading into WrestleMania 42 with the WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Rhea Ripley, making any Intercontinental Championship ambitions a post-WrestleMania conversation at the earliest. The current Women’s Intercontinental Champion is AJ Lee, who defends against Becky Lynch on Night One. Cargill defending the Women’s title against Ripley takes place on Night Two on April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
