Los Garza‘s future with WWE is looking uncertain after a one-sided loss on Raw and a cryptic post-show statement from Angel Garza. The cousins were called up from SmackDown for an impromptu two-on-one handicap match against Oba Femi, who destroyed both men with little resistance. Hours after the broadcast ended, Garza took to social media with a thank-you note to fans that read like a possible farewell, sparking immediate speculation about Los Garza’s standing in the company amid the ongoing roster purge.
The booking itself was unusual. Both Angel Garza and Humberto “Berto” Carrillo are part of the SmackDown roster, making their Raw appearance their first match on the brand for either since a 2023 battle royal. They had been seen earlier in the night asking Adam Pearce for any opportunity, and when Pearce announced the Oba Femi Open Challenge had been cancelled due to lack of challengers, Femi dragged the duo to the ring himself for an easy win. Squash match appearances designed to elevate one performer at the cost of another are common, but doing so for SmackDown talent on Raw with no prior build adds a layer of finality to the segment.
Garza’s post-Raw statement read, “Thank you to everyone who never jumped off the ship and kept supporting the Garza Legacy through it all.” Combined with the surprise appearance, lopsided loss, and the climate of the post-WrestleMania roster purge, the signs are pointing to a possible exit. Both men debuted on the main roster as singles wrestlers in 2019 and were teamed together in 2021. Their resume includes a WrestleMania 36 appearance and a brief AAA Tag Team Championship reign in 2024. Whether they’re released, repackaged, or simply transitioning to limited roles remains to be seen.
