AEW World Champion MJF will defend the title against RUSH, and TNT Champion Kevin Knight will face his former tag team partner Speedball Mike Bailey, on the June 3 Dynamite from the Siegel Center in Richmond, Virginia.
Knight turned on Bailey and attacked Darby Allin on the May 27 Dynamite, explaining that he believed Allin had let him down by losing the world title to MJF at Double or Nothing. Knight had been the last person to defeat MJF before Allin and felt he should have been in the main event instead of watching from the sidelines. RUSH challenged MJF for the title after MJF’s celebration on the same show, calling him “chicken***” and demanding an immediate shot. MJF agreed.
The June 3 card will also feature a Men’s Owen Hart Cup semifinal between Will Ospreay and Mark Davis, and a Women’s Owen Hart Cup quarterfinal between Alex Windsor and the yet-to-be-named wild card opponent. This will be MJF and RUSH’s second-ever singles meeting, with their first coming in June 2024. Bailey holds a 3-0 singles record against Knight heading into their match.
